At EACCCC, our mission is to foster a strong sense of community among Eritrean-Americans. We strive to connect refugees and first-generation families with their heritage through education and cultural activities.
To address the urgent needs and emerging priorities of our ever-growing community. We strive to preserve cultural awareness in the diaspora and build interconnections that foster belonging and empowerment. Our daily work includes supporting community leaders, aiding new immigrants and refugees, assisting adults with language and job skills, and nurturing our youth's educational and leadership aspirations. .
The Eritrean Community Cultural and Civic Center of Charlotte began forming in the 1980s as Eritrean refugees settled in the area, seeking safety and opportunity. Through resilience and hard work, they built new lives and became part of Charlotte’s diverse fabric.
Over the years, the community has grown—preserving its heritage while embracing the promise of life in America. We remain connected to Eritrea through cultural events, language classes, and shared traditions, while also engaging with the wider Charlotte community.
Today, our center serves as a hub for Eritrean-Americans of all generations. We support new immigrants, uplift our youth, and create a space where culture, community, and connection thrive. Our mission is to honor our roots while shaping a future of contribution and unity in Charlotte..
